Anouk is a postdoctoral researcher in Genome Evolution, Virus Evolution, and Computational Molecular Evolution. She has recently been awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship to develop the ONCOGENEVOL project with Dr. Ignacio G. Bravo. Intrigued by viruses, she is studying key events that occurred during papillomavirus genome evolution. Combining in silico and wet-lab approaches she is aiming to understand how and when the oncogenic potential of certain papillomaviruses arose, while for most papillomaviruses, infections remain asymptomatic.
Anouk is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Vienna, Division of Microbial Ecology, Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science
