I joined Virostyle at the beginning of 2021 in parallel to my implication in the ERC clinical project Evolproof (Samuel Alizon). I work on manipulation of protein translation by HPVs, and particularly on the expression patterns of the pro-oncogenes E6 and E7. In addition, within the framework of an exploratory project, I will study the diversity among dsDNA viruses, specially among ano-genital viruses infecting wild or semi-captivity housed animals. I will focus on prevalence, phylogeny or association to clinical signs. This approach could lead to the discovery of new types of papillomaviruses and a better understanding of their evolution.
Keywords: (human) papillomaviruses, gene expression and regulation, E6 and E7, oncogenesis and evolution
